Mermaid Action Card

Hello again! It's Ashlea, and I'm back to share this fun mermaid action card with you today. I combined two sets; Chubby Mermaid and Fashion Boss to create the imagery and sentiment on this card.
I don't often use colored card stock when creating cards, but something about this purple just screams mermaid to me. I love the contrast of it against the white card base and that its so subtle while making a strong statement.
I stamped the mermaid in Momento Black ink so that I could color her in with Copic markers and the ink wouldn't run with the colors. I chose the sentiment "To Be Irreplaceable One Must Always Be Different" from the Fashion Boss set because I thought it went really well with this confident, curvy mermaid. I embossed the sentiment in white powder on a piece of gray card stock.
To make the movement on the card I used a circle die meant for this but you could use two circle dies in varying sizes. Adhere the cut out "donut" circle with glue. Adhere the outer portion of the card front and the center of the circle with two layers of foam tape for dimension. Adhere a small piece of card stock between the foam adhered sections to the mermaid. This will allow the mermaid to move around the circle as if she's swimming. I added the sentiment strip to the center of the circle so that the mermaid circles around it.
To finish the card off, I added some purple gems to the lower right and upper left corners of the card to add some sparkle. I hope that you've enjoyed learning a little bit about how I created this card! The Chubby Mermaid stamp set is in the store under Last Chance so be sure you scoop her up ASAP! I'll see you very soon!
