I am so excited to be joining the Kindred Stamp Design team! My name is Brandi M. Kindred Stamps has combined two of my favorite things crafting and pop culture.
Today I created a Birthday card for a little boy in my kids class using the Building Blocks stamp set. First I created the background by repeatedly stamping one of the block images from the set.
Then to create a focal image by stamping out the two block people and a sentiment on to a smaller piece of white card stock. All of my stamping was done in a waterproof black ink so I could use my Zig clean color real brush makers to color everything. Each color is made up of two markers, blended together to give my coloring more depth.
When coloring a rounded object you want to add the darker shade a bit away from the edge so that there is a highlight along the very edge. It's easiest to to see this on the block boy's head, I placed my darker shade just inside the stamp lines then using the lighter shade I blended to until I got the desired look.
I added the background to a standard A2 top folding card base and I also layered my focal image onto the same red card stock. To add a bit of dimension to the card I popped the focal image up using a piece of kids craft foam.
The last step was to stamp a Birthday sentiment into the inside of my card.
I hope you enjoyed this card and I will be back soon to share more of my projects with you all.
