Christmas with Extended Family

Hello again, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press! We all know the best part of holiday gatherings is spending time with our loved ones; even our kooky cousins, right? Today, I'm sharing another fun Christmas card featuring images from Spooky Family, and the new Extended Spooky Family sets. I love the bright, bold colors and the way the characters are peeking out.

Just like I often do, I started by stamping, embossing, and Copic coloring my images. I added some Aqua Shimmer Pen highlights to their hair. Then I used my ScanNCut to fussy cut the images. I created my own pattern paper backgrounds by stenciling red and green inks through the Comic Dots Stencil onto one panel, then stamping colorful bats onto a second panel. For both backgrounds, I used two shades of red ink, and two shades of green. That added some depth and interest.

To assemble the card, I glued the stenciled panel to a card base, glued the characters down the left side, then popped the stamped panel up with foam tape and slightly overlapped the characters. I added a fishtail strip of vellum down the center of the panel to allow my sentiment to pop. The word "it's" is from the Llama Get This Straight set and the word "Christmas" is a die, cut and stacked three layers thick. This card has texture and dimension from all of the layers, but it was easy to make. You can substitute characters from any of Kindred Stamps' fun pop culture sets, to re-create this card in your favorite fandom! Change up the color scheme and sentiment for any occasion; it makes a great template.

I hope I've inspired you to give this style a try. Please tag me on Instagram if you do so I can cheer you on! You can find the sister post to this article on my blog today, with links to the specific products I used. Head on over for lots more inspiration! I'll be back soon with another spooky card.
