To Your New Adventure!

Hello there everyone! It's Ashlea and I'm super excited to be back today to share my card using both the Up For An Adventure and We're In A Club stamp sets. These two sets naturally go together and I wanted to do a little crossover and use equal parts to create a bit of a different kind of card.
Not everyone has babies. Some people have dogs. If you have ever had "dog people" friends you know what I mean. These pups are their babies and are treated as such. For those people, we make dog shower (not baby shower) cards. Sure, none of my friends have actually had a dog shower but I give cards for just about everything in life, so, you get a new dog, you get a dog shower card.
I used the little boy and girl images from the We're In A Club stamp set and colored them in with Copic markers. I did the same with the dog and single balloon images from the Up For An Adventure set and then fussy cut them out and put them to the side. To create my simple scene, I used a full sticky post it note and ink blended Distress Oxide in Cracked Pistachio for the grass and then just above it in Broken China for the blue sky onto a piece of 110# card stock cut to 4" x 5 1/4". Using foam tape, I adhered my cut images onto my scene and made sure the balloon was placed resting in the boys hand.
For my sentiment(s) I used "To Your New Adventure" and "We're In A Club Now" which I added little quotes to. I thought the quotes just gave it a more personal feel and a little nod to where it originally came from. Finally, I trimmed a quarter inch off of the left side of the card front and added a quarter inch of black and white patterned paper for some added interest. I really love the way it plays off of the black card stock used for the sentiment square.
I can't wait until a friend gets a puppy so I can welcome them to The Club! I hope you've enjoyed learning a bit about how I created this card! I will see you very soon!
